With more than a hundred years old, this historic site, considered one of the most notable examples of Mexican railway infrastructure, transports us to the 20th century, when the railway was the most modern means of transport. The construction of this station began in 1903 and its construction was completed in 1904. It was the second train stop that Querétaro had. It was narrow and connected to Mexico City and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. It was inaugurated in 1903 by then President Porfirio Diaz, with the arrival of a train from Mexico City. However, at that time the station was not completed, only the track, so it was not until October 3, 1904 that it was inaugurated by the then state governor, Francisco González de Cosío, in conjunction with the district prefect. At the head of the platform you can still see a couple of quarries where the date of the inauguration was recorded. The majestic construction has an English style, designed and built by the architect McDonald, who decided to use materials typical of the region for its construction, such as the pink quarry and the gray quarry of the cushion type, with wooden beams and an excellent façade. . Walking through its floors and hearing them creak at every step is an incomparable experience, walking the platforms and sitting on its old and long benches to wait, it is the perfect pretext to admire the surroundings and contemplate a building that has a life of its own. On March 17, 1986 and by presidential decree, this building is declared a historical monument. Recently the facilities of the Old Station were destined to promote culture, taking advantage of each and every one of its spaces. The waiting rooms, the ticket office, the fireplace and the restaurant are now rooms for guitar, dance, painting and other artistic disciplines. On the upper floor there is the dispatcher's room, which is the largest space and currently houses a scale model of old trains and stations, which was built by the Friends of the Railroad association. In addition, since 2013 it houses the Interactive Puppet Museum "Pepe Díaz Núñez" painting and other artistic disciplines. On the upper floor there is the dispatcher's room, which is the largest space and currently houses a scale model of old trains and stations, which was built by the Friends of the Railroad association. In addition, since 2013 it houses the Interactive Puppet Museum "Pepe Díaz Núñez"
